About me

Hey, I’m George,

Ive been “doing design” for 6+ years

I’m classically trained as an industrial designer, but most of my energy now goes into exploring where hardware and software meet, where design stops being static and starts behaving, responding, even surprising. I like working at that blurry edge between interaction and object, between what’s obvious and what’s just possible enough.

I’m not just trying to build “nice” things. I’m building things that feel thoughtful, sometimes a little strange, but grounded in how people actually think, move, and feel. To me, design isn’t a fixed medium, it’s just the toolset that helps an idea come to life. Sometimes that’s CAD. Sometimes it’s code, or motion, or just a well timed sound.

I’m newer to the software side, but I’m not new to figuring things out. I learn by making, and I’ve always had a tendency to prototype first and explain second. That’s how I think. That’s how I share ideas. And I’m often chasing the types of interactions that don’t show up in spec sheets, the ones that make something unexpectedly feel right.

I’m not trying to match what’s already out there. I’m trying to add something a little different.

Why “Dust To Design”

Because that’s where everything starts, in the mess. A thought, a sketch, an accidental behavior, a piece of hardware taped to a table. This site is my way of sharing that trail, how ideas move from messy to tangible. From nothing to something worth clicking, tapping, hearing, or using.

Also… a long time ago there was just dust. Now we unlock rectangles with our face
