Context: Visual Field Deficit

This section is home to projects inspired by my experience with hemianopia (visual impairment caused by my tumour - diagnosed 2016).

They’re not just about being “inspirational.” They’re about turning a weird, frustrating situation into weird, functional design ideas, that hopfully improve my way of life.

I have hemianopia, which limits my vision on the left side, some areas are completely blind, others blurry or dark. This makes it easy to miss things like screen notifications, objects, or people approaching from the left unless I actively scan. While I’ve adapted, there are still moments where technology could better support and enhance how I interact with the world.

This is where I turn a weird, frustrating situation into weird, functional design ideas.

Seeing more with Apple Vision Pro

A concept exploration introducing hemianopia and visual field loss through simple, visual storytelling. It proposes how Apple Vision Pro’s (sensors, eye tracking, foveated rendering, LiDAR, and passthrough video....)could adapt interfaces and environments for people with low or no vision. The project blends education, empathy, and possibilities through interface innovation.
